– July 26, 2007 –

Super D Independent Distribution, a division of Super D, the Worldwide Music Wholesaler today announced the signing of three new exclusive labels; Tropical Music, Gridiron Records and Shaman Work Recordings. Tim Hinsley, General Manager of the newly formed independent distribution division, stated, “We are very excited that these new partners have decided to join the SDID family. These labels fit our model of giving a wide variety of excellent releases to our customers worldwide.”

Tropical Music, the award winning purveyor of Hawaiian music formed in 1974, features a catalog of such tropical music luminaries as Israel Kamakawiwo`ole, Makaha Sons, and Hui `Ohana. “It’s very exciting to be working with a vibrant and energetic company like Super D.” said Lea A. Uehara, President of Tropical Music. “Tropical Music will benefit from its knowledgeable and experienced staff. We look forward to a great relationship.” SDID will release upcoming albums from singer-songwriter Justin Young and Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau featuring Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Tropical was formerly distributed by Navarre.

Formed by Ex-Snot/Soulfly guitarist Mikey Doling and long time NFL mainstay Kyle Turley, Gridiron Records is looking become an indie rock powerhouse devoid of trends. Key staffers include Tim Pickett from EMI and former Snot manager Nic Adler. “We at Gridiron Records are thrilled to have entered into a distribution agreement with Super-D. We've been looking for almost a year, and Super-D's approach is important to us as a new label in a rapidly changing marketplace,” stated Max Harris, President of Gridiron Records. “One has to be light on their feet and have flexibility change course and move quickly in this business environment. They understand that. We look forward to a bright and mutually rewarding partnership with Super-D.” The first release from Gridiron will be Invitro, featuring Doling and members of the Wizards. Invitro has toured with Sevendust, Static-X and HellYeah, as well as the 2007 Family Values tour.

The eclectic hip-hop collective known as Shaman Work burst on to the scene with 2002’s Alpha Project Volume 1 and have featured works from such luminaries as Neptunes, Clipse and underground mainstays Little Brother. Shaman Work’s catalog includes releases featuring John Robinson, C.L. Smooth, Wale Oyejide aka Science Fiction, Wise Intelligent, Build an Ark, K. Banger, Sene, Trump aka B.I., Emanon, Metal Fingers aka MF DOOM, Scienz of Life, DJ K.O., Blackberry Jones, Tiffany Paige, Lacks aka Ta'Raach, Finale, U George, DJ 2-Tone Jones, and Misters. "The world can count on Shaman Work being the pillars of innovation in the independent music industry. Shaman Work can count on Super D to support its vision and drive for pushing the envelope,” stated SW CEO Chris Craft. “We're very excited and honored to be welcomed into the Super D Independent Distribution family, allowing us to continue to make history and make our ideas manifest." Upcoming releases include new albums from Build an Ark and Blackberry Jones. Shaman Work was formerly distributed by Koch.
